Unlike most of the writers on this blog I am from the UK (England to be precise), and although we share a lot in common (like an imminent recession) there are some differences between our two nations. Like to me football is probably what you Americans would call soccer. And what you call football is what I would call American football or even NFL. Another funny difference I find is that Americans like to place ‘Z’ where is should be and ‘S’. What Americans call Jelly we call Jam and what Americans call Jelo we call Jelly

Here in the UK we have a lot of American T.V shows on the telly (TV… do Americans say telly?) and the coverage of the US presidential election is on the news quite a lot, although no one in the U.K pretends to know how the American political systems works. Everyone in the U.K spent 2 weeks asking each other is “Hilary actually out of the presidential race?” and spent a further week trying to figure out why California was so important to the presidential election.

Obama visited Europe this week as well, but that was over shadowed by the fact that Tory leader David Cameron got his beloved ‘Bikey’ back. Apparently some hoodies had nicked (stolen for you Americans) his bike, taken the wheel and dumped it. But fear not readers! There was help at hand as a British newspaper tracked his bike down for him.
