It has recently come to my attention that, in an attempt to further expose ourselves (in a wholesome, family-style way) to the public, Sod is now sponsoring a college football bowl game. That’s right, we’ve joined such luminaries as the Mieneke Car Care Bowl, the Poulan Weedeater Bowl, the Papajohns.com Bowl and the Champs Sports Bowl. (all real)

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the Sodblog.com Bowl. It will be played at Bismarck Century High School’s football field on December 24th at 8:00PM, Pacific Island Time. The two teams that we managed to snag for this inaugural game are the Colby White Mules from Waterville, Maine and the Heidelberg Student Princes of Tiffin, Ohio. Both are Division III teams, true, but they were the best that we could get (and afford) at this late date.

So, make sure to get your tickets now for the change to see the Fighting White Mules take the field against the Fighting Student Princes at the very first (and probably last, let’s be honest) Sodblog.com Bowl. They’re going fast!

There are going to be marshmallow squares given out to the first 25 people through the gate and free hand-warmers given out to the first 50, so make sure to get there early.

For those unable to secure tickets to this historic event, it will be broadcast on Public Access right here in Portland, Oregon. Unfortunately, due to scheduling concern, we could not procure the air time to broadcast it in the Bismarck area. Brian and Dave’s Death Metal Music Video Show and This Week in Batshit Insane with Irene Templeton just would not budge from their time-slots. Jerks.
