Here at Sod, we can only go about two to three good months without making a list of some sort before we start getting all itchy and distempered.  Thankfully, next week we get to satisfy our joneses before being reduced to manning street corners and soliciting johns for list ideas. 

Originally inspired by a post on Gorilla vs. Bear, we at Sod are initiating the Great “Albums of Your Life” challenge.  The premise at its most basic: pick the best record of each year that you’ve been alive.  Of course, this gets six different kinds of ugly once you begin to realize that you need to make decisions regarding the applicability of hindsight, how much shame you want to wear on your sleeve, etc.  But it was a challenge that Kelly, Nate, and I felt duty-bound to attempt, and the results will be posted for all to see (and likely ridicule) this coming week on Sod.  My results will be posted on Monday, Kelly’s on Wednesday, and Nate’s will wrap things up on Friday.  We encourage you all to consider your own lists, post them in the comments, and just generally geek out over trying to find a selection for the wasteland of a year that was 1981, and realizing that there’s nothing - nothing - wrong with expressing your love for Huey Lewis and the News.
