There Will Be Blood
Daniel Day Lewis deserved best actor for this film, 100%. The problem was not with the acting. The problem was with the story itself. I understand that it was meant to be deep and meaningful, but it didn’t have to be boring. Who wants to sit for two and a half hours of a movie with no climax and no suspense. The only visually stimulating scene in the movie was a very well done oil fire that looked like a 50 ft fountian of fire. With a title like there will be blood, you would expect a little bit of action, maybe even violence. No. All in all the movie was designed to to follow the life of Daniel Plainview and show his struggles, triumphs and slow slip from reality and sanity. Good idea, great acting, too long.
