Liveblogging Oktoberfest: Sodblog arrives in Munich

I’ve just arrived in Munich, where people have been drinking 2 liter mugs of beer for 8 days now, while wearing Lederhosen and authentic, mass-produced beer wench outfits.
I am underdressed and far too sober.
I hear there’s the possibility of some sort of political debates back in the states going on tonight and that SodBlog will be liveblogging it…so this is my bid for attention. Don’t do it! Read me!! Come to the beer tents with me, accompany me on my journeys to purchase a dress that cinches my waist and pushes up my bosoms, laugh and sing with me as I clodhop on tables and clink my gigantic mug of beer with complete strangers!
That said, I don’t think I’ll be technically liveblogging, per se, but randomly checking in during pockets of drunken clarity and posting pictures, maybe even videos, of the carnage.

This is probably just so totally inappropriate, but when I saw the picture, the first think that flashed through my mind was the Griswold family from National Lampoon’s European Vacation. LOL I can’t help but laugh when I think about Clark Griswold turning a festive dance during what appeared to be an Oktoberfest celebration into a street brawl.
Would you be drinking beer continuously 8 hours for 2 days? My god. I cant believe this. It will create a total mess up in my health. I do not have that much stamina.
Tongyun, that was funny I never thought of that until I read your response. It is not inappropriate or at least as far as I can tell. it was your first thought and that happens to all of us at times.
As far as the fest, yes Cog there are people that drink all day long for the duration of the festival. I also heard that the drinking age is very different there than in other countries. Can anyone tell us what the drinking age is at this festival.
tongyun that was funny. My sister I think is actually at Oktoberfest. I have no idea where she is LOL. She’s studying in Italy for the semester but she seems to be traveling all over the place. I don’t think I could drink THAT much beer. I do love beer but WOW that’s a lot. I thought the drinking age was 15 (at least that’s what one of my brothers told me)…but I could be wrong.
